In the Apollo Theater Saturday Workshop Series, stage production professionals shed light (and props and sound) on what it takes to put on a show—from behind the velvet curtain. During this 12-week workshop series, teens learn technical stage production, the behind-the-scenes stuff of live theater: audio, lighting, set design and prop creation. The program connects teens to technical arts careers through one of the great cultural icons of the city. A tradition of mentoring and support for the next generation of dreamers lives on at the Apollo, as seasoned stage-hands, designers, and production staff guide teens through the ins-and-outs of their work, their world, and how to put together everything they have learned in their own show, live at the Apollo Theater.
