"As the daughter of a single mother who worked two full-time jobs, a mom of two young girls myself, and an entrepreneur in the financial industry, I know first-hand how difficult it is for women to get ahead – and stay ahead. That’s why it’s time to create the first generation of women who will lead from the top. Women who will think nothing of creating a business or being the next CEO." (Jennifer Openshaw, CEO and Founder, Girls with Impact)

Tech-Enabled Entrepreneurship for Teens

Jennifer Openshaw started Girls With Impact to equip young women to be leaders, starting now. High school girls with entrepreneurial passion can apply to take part in the Girls With Impact Academy, a 12-part online course led by a business expert. Girls learn to create a business plan with a mission, advisory board, and budget plan, and to analyze customer needs and competition. Sessions also teach interpersonal skills such as how to receive feedback and build a strong team. At the end of the course, each student presents a pitch as CEO of her new organization.

Where Teenage Dreams Become Reality

Alumnae of the Girls With Impact Academy are invited to join the Boardroom, a peer network of entrepreneurs. Members of the Boardroom receive mentorship and support to bring their business ventures to life. Launched projects include I.C.O.D., a website with resources for children concerned about deportation; Generation Impact, a grant-awarding network of teenage girls dedicated to making a difference in their community; and B.R.U.N.C.H., an out-of-school meal service for homeless families. Girls With Impact isn’t just creating the business leaders of tomorrow, it’s empowering the CEOs of today!
